Late goal sinks Vikings at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team led at the half Saturday at Lake Forest College, but the Foresters rallied for a 2-1 Midwest Conference victory at Mohr Field.
Lawrence got on the board first when reigning Midwest Conference Player of the Year Cambrie Rickard scored her first goal of the season. Rickard, who recently returned from a season-ending injury in 2022, took a pass from Kylie Grimes and scored at the 25:00 mark to put the Vikings up 1-0.
The score stayed that way until Lake Forest's Caitlin Mulcahy scored to tie it at 1-1 at the 56:37 mark. Mulcahy then scored off a rebound at the 80:10 mark to put the Foresters ahead for good.
Lawrence goalkeeper Audri Klionsky made six saves for the Vikings, and Franca Finch stopped two shots for Lake Forest.
Lawrence is now 2-1-1 in the league and 3-5-3 overall, and Lake Forest improved to 5-3-5 overall and 3-0-1 in the MWC.
