APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team rallied late Saturday against Buffalo State University but dropped a 3-2 nonconference decision at the Appleton Ice Center.
  Lawrence trailed 3-0 before scoring twice in a span of 2:28 midway through the third period.

Cole Schneider got Lawrence on the board when he took a pass from
Robby Pustulka and beat Buffalo State goaltender Drew Doran at the 10:17 mark.
  The Vikings quickly cut the deficit to 3-2 when
Miles McCue's wrist shot from above the face-off circles went over Doran's shoulder and into the back of the net at the 12:45 mark.
Cory Checco and
Jayden Jensen both picked up assists on the goal.
  Lawrence pressed hard for the equalizer in the final minutes and pulled goaltender
Nolan Mahaffey for final 1:53. The Vikings snapped off 13 shots on goal in the final period but couldn't get the tying goal.
  Buffalo State scored once in each of the first two periods and scored 6:28 into the third to grab the 3-0 advantage.
  Mahaffey stopped 30 shots for the Vikings, and Doran made 25 saves for Buffalo State.
