LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team jumped out to an early lead Friday at Lake Forest College, but the Foresters rallied for a 6-3 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
  Lawrence led 2-0 after the opening period, but the Foresters scored six times in the second period to seize control. The Vikings scored early in the third to trim the margin to three but couldn't pull any closer.

Oliver DeCroock got the Vikings on the board with a goal with 3:58 left in the opening period.
Jordan Cooper and
Jacob Jakusz both collected assists on DeCroock's tally.Â
  Lawrence made it 2-0 when
Miles McCue scored his seventh goal of the season just over a minute later. McCue scored off assists from
Jack Michels and
Cory Checco with 2:51 remaining in the first.
  Lake Forest then scored on the power play early in the second period and quickly tacked on two more goals. The Foresters then put together another three-goal flurry later in the period to pull away.

Cole Schneider completed the scoring for Lawrence with a power-play goal at the 2:56 mark of the third. Lawrence went 1-for-3 on the power play, and Lake Forest was 1-for-4.

Owen Carlson started for the Vikings and made 15 saves over the first 33:51.
Nolan Mahaffey came on in relief and stopped 17 shots over the final 26:07. Kohl Reddy made 22 saves for the Foresters.
  The teams wrap up the series on Saturday in Appleton.
