JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team went ice cold Saturday in a 49-40 Midwest Conference loss to Illinois College at Sherman Gymnasium.
  Lawrence (6-3, 2-2 MWC) shot just 22 percent from the floor, including 12.9 percent (4-31) from beyond the arc.Â
  The Vikings trailed 21-15 at the half and trailed by only six points at 34-28 after a pair of
Maggie Culver free throws early in the fourth quarter. Illinois College then hit three of its next four shots from the floor to stretch the margin to 40-28.Â
  Lawrence countered with a 3-pointer from
Caroline Sharpe to trim the lead to 40-31, but the Vikings never got closer than seven points down the stretch.

Taylor Svoboda led Lawrence with 10 points as she went was perfect on the day. Svoboda went 3-for-3 from the floor, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range, and was 2-for-2 from the foul line. Culver added seven points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.Â
  Kendra Bass led Illinois College (5-5, 2-2) with 12 points, and Ashlyn Wightman grabbed 14 rebounds.
