APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University baseball standout
Quinn Berglin has been named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Berglin (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), a junior right-hander, picked up the award after an outstanding start to begin the season.
Making his first start of the 2023 campaign on Sunday, Berglin tossed five shutout innings and allowed just one hit in Lawrence's 7-2 victory over previously unbeaten Otterbein University. Berglin struck out six and didn't walk a batter while allowing only a fifth-inning single.
Berglin, who faced one over the minimum number of hitters in his five innings of work, earned the league's Pitcher of the Week honor for the second time in his career. He also was chosen in April 2022.
Lawrence returns to action on March 7 when the Vikings travel to US Bank Stadium for a nonconference doubleheader with Carleton College.
