CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team built an early advantage over Carleton College on Saturday, but the Knights came back for a 7-5 nonconference victory over the Vikings.
  Lawrence was up 5-0 through 2 1/2 innings, but Carleton scored twice in the third, twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth to pull out the win.

Mikayla Jeneske led Lawrence (1-7) by going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in.
Jordan Wallin-Swanson went 2-for-3, scored a run and drove in a run for the Vikings, who finished with eight hits.
  The Vikings jumped on top in the top of the first when
Mattigan Haller doubled and scored on Jeneske's double.
Gillian Guerriero followed with a single to score Jeneske, and Lawrence led 2-0.
  Lawrence got another rally going in the third when Jeneske reached on a one-out single. After Guerriero reached on an error, Wallin-Swanson singled to score Jeneske.
Kourtney Mercer followed with a single to score Guerriero, and an error on
Xiomara Rueda-Marshall's groundball allowed Wallin-Swanson to score for a 5-0 edge.
  Carleton (6-2) tagged Mercer for two runs in the third, and the Knights got two more off reliever
Lizzy Angemi in the fifth to trim the lead to 5-4. The Knights then scored three times on four hits in the sixth to take the lead. The Vikings went down in order in the seventh.
  Mercer allowed two runs on two hits in the first three innings. Angemi worked 2.2 innings of relief and took the loss.
