APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University softball team dropped both ends of a Midwest Conference doubleheader to Grinnell College on Saturday at Whiting Field.
  Grinnell won the opener 9-0 and took the nightcap 3-0.
  In the first game, the Pioneers pulled away with five runs in the final two innings. Lawrence was limited to five hits by Grinnell starter Christin Hartman, who picked up the win. She struck out five and didn't walk a batter.
  LIzzy Angemi allowed 11 hits and went the distance for Lawrence (5-25, 1-7 MWC). She struck out four and walked five.
  The Vikings got a strong pitching performance in game two from
Xiomara Rueda-Marshall, who allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings. She struck out one and walked two.
  Lawrence was limited to five hits by a pair of Grinnell pitchers. Maddy O'Bryan went five innings to get the win for Grinnell (18-10, 8-0), and Kathryn Vermeulen went the final two innings to pick up the save.
