APPLETON, Wis. -- Five Lawrence University baseball players have earned a place on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Parker Knoll,
Zach Leslie,
Mitchell Sandleback and
Jordan Schaefer all earned a place on the team.
  To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
  Foley (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa), a sophomore pitcher, is a mathematics major with a 3.86 grade point average. Foley was 1-3 this past season with two saves and a 6.63 earned run average. He struck out 25 in 19 innings.
  Knoll (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), a sophomore center fielder, is a biochemistry major with a 3.86 grade point average. Knoll hit a scorching .427 this season with 10 doubles, a triple, 10 homers, 34 runs batted in and 49 runs scored.Â
  Leslie (Chicago, Ill./University of Chicago Laboratory), a junior first baseman, is a chemistry major with a 3.89 grade point average. Leslie batted .366 this season with six doubles, four homers, 19 runs scored and 28 runs batted in.Â
  Sandleback (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville), a senior catcher/outfielder, has a 3.86 grade point average and is a biology major. Sandleback hit .244 this season with two doubles, a homer, 11 runs batted in and 27 runs scored.
  Schaefer (Mount Horeb, Wis./Mount Horeb), a senior pitcher, sports a 3.61 grade point average and is majoring in economics. Schaefer made a team-high 15 appearances this season with a 7.57 earned run average. He struck out 25 in 27.1 innings.
  These five student-athletes are now eligible for Academic All-America honors. The Academic All-America team will be announced in June.
