APPLETON, Wis. -- Three Lawrence University players have been chosen for the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region 9 team.
 Â
Parker Knoll was a first-team selection,
Quinn Berglin was a second-team pick and shortstop
Edan Perez was a third-team choice.
Knoll (Appleton, Wis.), a sophomore center fielder, was chosen by the ABCA for the second consecutive season. Knoll was a third-team pick by the ABCA in 2022, and also earned first-team honors in 2023 by D3baseball.com.
Knoll hit a career-best .427 on the season with 10 doubles, one triple and 10 home runs. Knoll became just the second player in school history to hit double digits in homers. Batting in the lead-off spot in Lawrence's lineup, Knoll scored 49 runs and ranked 32nd in all of NCAA Division III at 1.36 runs per game. He also drove in 34 runs while compiling a .707 slugging percentage and 1.201 OPS.
This is Knoll's second all-region selection of his career. He was a third-team pick by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2022.
A first-team All-Midwest Conference selection for the second consecutive season, Knoll notched 20 mult-hit games on the season. He had one five-hit game, three more four-hit games and an additional eight three-hit games. Knoll put together a 17-game hit streak during the season, and that is the second-longest streak in school history dating back to 2000. Knoll was honored as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division III Hitter of the Week and as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week during the season.Â
Knoll also swiped a team-best 21 bases and compiled a .982 fielding percentage.
A junior pitcher, Berglin (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) was chosen for an all-region team for the third consecutive season. In 2022, he was a second-team pick by D3baseball.com and a third-team choice by the ABCA. Berglin also earned second-team all-region honors from D3baseball.com in 2021.
Berglin, a first-team All-Midwest Conference selection, put together a 3-1 record with a school-record 1.94 earned run average. Limited to 41.2 innings on the season due to injury, Berglin struck out 43 and walked just 16 while holding opponents to a .171 batting average.Â
A Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week during 2023, Berglin tossed a one-hitter while striking out nine in a 5-1 victory at Illinois College. He matched his season-best of nine strikeouts in a victory at Knox College, and he picked up an early-season win with five innings of one-hit ball against Otterbein University. Berglin allowed no earned runs in two of his seven starts and allowed just one earned run in three starts.Â
Perez (Manteno, Ill./Manteno), a sophomore shortstop, had a huge season at the plate in 2023 to earn his first all-region selection.Â
A first-team All-Midwest Conference selection, Perez led the Vikings and is ranked in the top 20 in NCAA Division III with a .457 batting average, which is the sixth-best season batting average in Lawrence history. Perez finished the season with 10 doubles, four triples, nine homers, 42 runs batted in and 37 runs scored in 36 games. He also finished with 11 stolen bases.Â
Perez led the Midwest Conference with a .490 batting average and earned Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors. Perez compiled 19 multi-hit games, including three games with four hits and nine games with three hits. He also drove in a career-high seven runs at Grinnell College.
Perez finished the season on a 12-game hit streak.
The three all-region selections are the second-highest in program history, eclipsed only by the four selections in 2022.
