APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Illinois Tech on Wednesday in a nonconference game on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
  Lawrence scored in the opening half and held that advantage until the Scarlet Hawks scored 16 minutes into the second half.Â
  The Vikings attacked early in the contest, and it was rookie
Songjun Kim who was taken down in the penalty box at the 23:20 mark. Lawrence's
Rodrigo Angulo stepped up for the penalty kick and buried it in the left side of the goal for a 1-0 lead.
  Illinois Tech had several quality scoring chances in the opening half, but Lawrence goalkeeper
Ethan Uribe made seven saves before the break. Uribe finished with nine saves in the contest. Illinois Tech's David Rodriguez made one save.
  The Scarlet Hawks evened the score on Tomas Rebelatto's goal at the 61:26 mark, and neither team was able to score again despite good scoring chances on both sides.
  Lawrence posted 11 shots for the match, and Illinois Tech had 23.
