MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- A pair of late goals Saturday thwarted any Lawrence University comeback attempt as the Vikings fell 3-0 at Cornell College in a Midwest Conference match.
Cornell led 1-0 just 5:35 into the match on Sam Burmeister's goal, and the score stayed that way until the Rams scored twice in the final 12 minutes. Cornell scored in the 79th and 89th minutes to pull away.
The Rams posted a 15-7 edge in shots on goal for the match.Â

Nason Lancina made 12 saves for the Vikings, and Floris Huiskers made seven saves to pick up the shutout for Cornell.
