Grimes scores twice as Lawrence rolls Rams

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- Kylie Grimes scored twice Saturday, and the Lawrence University women's soccer team romped to a 5-0 Midwest Conference victory at Cornell College.
Lawrence scored twice in the opening 10 minutes, and Grimes scored the game's next two goals to seal the victory for the Vikings.
The Lawrence defense limited Cornell to seven shots while the Vikings peppered the Rams with 41 shots.
Hannah Kalt opened the scoring just 3:35 into the match with her fourth goal of the season for a 1-0 Lawrence advantage. The Vikings quickly doubled that lead when Kylie Melonis took a pass from Erica Grube and found the back of the net at the 9:51 mark for a 2-0 edge.
Grimes then scored her first of the afternoon when she scored at the 30:46 mark to stake Lawrence to a 3-0 lead at the half.
Just 13 minutes into the second half Grimes scored again off a pass from Jordan Lanson to give Lawrence a 4-0 advantage at the 58:06 mark.
Senior Hannah Knudsen completed the scoring for the Vikings on a penalty kick at the 82:52 mark.
Audri Klionsky played the opening 45 minutes in goal and made one save for the Vikings. Ella Lysne started the second half and made two saves in 30 minutes of action. Kat Heyn saw her first action for the Vikings and made one save over the final 15 minutes. Cornell's Sabrina Ibanez made 13 saves for the Rams.
