MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University volleyball team picked up its first win of the season in impressive fashion with a 3-0 nonconference triumph over Alverno College on Friday.
  Lawrence's 25-23, 25-17, 25-18 win over the Inferno was part of the Blue Angel Bash at the Bloechl Center.
  It also was the first victory for Lawrence first-year head coach
Meg Grose.
  Lawrence used a balanced attack and solid defense in the victory.

Aliana Butler-Gray and
Callista Lo led the attack with seven kills apiece, and
Hilirie McLaughlin added five kills, two aces and two blocks. Lawrence setter
Cora Linos had six kills in all six of her attacks and piled up 22 assists and nine digs in the win.Â
  Lo and
Bailey Nez picked up 13 digs apiece to pace the Vikings, who hit .227 for the match.
Daphne Piotrowski added 10 digs.
