APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team dropped a 4-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to No. 5 Adrian College on Saturday at the Appleton Ice Center.
  First-year forward
Max Breon collected his first collegiate goal for the Vikings, who put together a solid effort against the highly touted Bulldogs.
Adrian (12-4-1, 9-1-0 NCHA) grabbed the early lead on a short-handed goal just 2:27 into the contest, and the scored stayed that way until the Bulldogs scored only 1:38 into the second period.
Lawrence got on the board five minutes later after a superlative piece of work by Breon. He swiped the puck from the Bulldogs in the Lawrence zone and streaked up the ice. He held off a pair of Adrian defenders and sent the puck past Nolan Suggs at the 6:41 mark to cut the lead to 2-1.
Adrian pushed the lead back to two goals with another short-hander at the 12:54 mark of the second and completed the scoring with a goal at 16:26 of the second.
  Lawrence goaltender
Owen Carlson stopped 36 shots for the Vikings (3-12-1, 2-7-1). Suggs made 23 saves to get the win.
The Vikings return to nonconference play on Tuesday when they host Saint Mary's (Minn.) University.
