APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team dropped a tight 65-61 Midwest Conference decision to Cornell College on Sunday at Alexander Gymnasium.
  The game was pushed back a day from its original schedule date due to the winter storm in Wisconsin.
  Cornell (6-10, 3-4 MWC) took the lead for good with just over a minute remaining and hung on for the victory.

Adnan Sarancic led Lawrence (3-13, 1-6) with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, and he added four assists. It is Sarancic's fourth double-double of the season.

Casey Schoenecker added 14 points, three rebounds and two assists for the Vikings.
Nicholas Gouriotis picked up eight points, and
Jake Fisher had a team-best five assists to go with five points for Lawrence.
  The game was close throughout, but Lawrence did build an eight-point advantage at 23-15 in the opening half. The Rams rallied and led 31-29 at the break.
  Lawrence quickly grabbed the lead back early in the second half and would lead by as many as five points twice in the second half. Cornell rallied again and led 57-54 with 2:51 remaining.

Hogan Demovsky made a pair of free throws for the Vikings to cut the lead to 57-56. After a Cornell miss, Schnoecker scored inside off a nice feed from Fisher to give Lawrence a 58-57 lead with 1:42 remaining.
  Dylan Hurley converted a three-point play with 1:21 left to put the Rams up 60-58.
  Fisher answered with a 3-pointer, and the Vikings led 61-60 with 1:10 remaining. Jayden Meeker scored in the paint to give Cornell a 62-61 advantage with 40 seconds left.Â
  After a Lawrence miss, the Rams were fouled and made two free throws for a 64-61 lead with 12.9 seconds remaining. Schnoecker missed a 3-pointer from the wing, and Cornell grabbed the rebound to seal the win.Â
  Lawrence returns to action next Saturday when the Vikings host Monmouth College.
