LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team rallied from an 18-point deficit before dropping a 79-78 Midwest Conference decision to Lake Forest College at the Sports and Recreation Center.
  The Vikings were down 56-38 in the second half, but rallied to take a three-point lead with less than two minutes remaining. Lake Forest's Alex Forowycz hit a jumper with five seconds remaining to give the Foresters the win.

Adnan Sarancic led Lawrence (4-16, 2-9 MWC) with 23 points as he went 9-for-16 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Sarancic added eight rebounds and four assists.Â

Casey Schoenecker had a double-double for the Vikings with 19 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Schoenecker went 8-for-12 from the floor and collected three steals and two assists. Lawrence's
Nicolas Manzanera came off the bench to pour in 17 points as he went 5-for-7 from the floor, including 4-for-4 from 3-point range.
  Lake Forest pulled out to a double-digit lead midway through the first half and led 46-33 at the break. The Foresters increased that advantage to 18 at 56-38 with 16:38 remaining in the contest.
  Lawrence then ripped off eight consecutive points, including five by Sarancic, to trim the lead to 56-46. The Vikings were still down 10 at 68-58 when Sarancic buried a 3-pointer to start another 8-0 run, capped by a Manzanera trey that cut the margin to 68-66.
  Lake Forest pushed the lead back to 73-68 before layups from Schoenecker, Manzanera and Schoenecker again, sandwiched around a Sarancic free throw, put Lawrence up 75-73 with 2:51 left.
    After a pair of Lake Forest free throws tied it, Manzanera drained another 3-pointer to put Lawrence ahead 78-75 with 1:45 remaining. Alex Knight countered with a layup for the Foresters, and the Vikings went cold. Lawrence missed a 3-pointer and then missed two free throws.
  Forowycz then hit the jumper with five ticks left to put the Foresters ahead for good. Lawrence didn't get a final shot off before the buzzer.Â
  Forowycz led Lake Forest (6-14, 4-7) with 38 points.
