APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University volleyball team cranked out a 3-0 nonconference victory over Maranatha Baptist University on Thursday at Alexander Gymnasium.
  Lawrence topped the Sabercats 25-7, 25-7, 25-17 on Senior Night as the Vikings honored its five seniors.

Aliana Butler-Gray posted a match-high 10 kills for the Vikings (9-17), and first-year
Hazel Cook added nine kills, six digs and three aces. Senior
Hilirie McLaughlin had a good night for the Vikings as she picked up seven kills and posted a .429 hitting percentage for the match.

Margaret Hahnke picked up five kills and had a match-high five aces to go with a match-high nine digs. Lawrence piled up 18 aces for the match, and
Natalee Kragie matched Hahnke with five aces.Â
  Senior setter
Cora Linos picked up 25 assists to go with two kills and three digs for Lawrence.
  Lawrence held Maranatha (2-23) to a minus-.138 hitting percentage for the match.
  The Vikings jumped out to a 6-0 lead to open the first set and they were off and running. Lawrence would build the lead to 21-5 before closing out the opening set. It was more of the same in the second set as the Vikings blasted out to a 12-1 advantage. Lawrence pushed the lead to 22-5 and then closed out the set with a kill from Cook. Â
  Lawrence grabbed an 8-2 lead to start the third set, but the Sabercats closed the margin to 8-5. Lawrence then scored eight of the next nine points to take a 16-6 lead. The teams then traded points the rest of the way with Lawrence picking up a pair of kills from McLaughlin to help close out the match.
