GALESBURG, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team fell 3-2 at Knox College in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday at Jorge Prats Field.
The Vikings fought back after twice trailing by two goals but couldn't get the equalizer.
Lawrence was down 2-0 early in the second half when
Rodrigo Angulo scored off a pass from
Jack Ginsberg at the 56:52 mark to trim the lead in half.
After Knox scored at 65:46 to push the lead back to 3-1, the Vikings fought back again. First-year player
Noud Geerdink scored his first collegiate goal off a pass from Angulo at the 81:27 mark to slice the lead to 3-2.
That's as close as the Vikings (2-9-4, 1-3-2 MWC) would get.
  Lawrence goalkeeper
Nason Lancina made nine saves for the Vikings, and Nicolas Lantzendorffer made three saves for Knox (7-7-2, 4-2-1).
The Vikings are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Ripon College.
