BELOIT, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team carved out a 2-1 Midwest Conference victory over Beloit College on Tuesday at Strong Soccer Field.
  The Vikings scored a pair of first-half goals and dominated long stretches of the game to move to 3-0-0 in Midwest Conference play and 8-3-1 on the season.
  After giving up a goal in the fifth minute, Lawrence struck back quickly.
Kylie Melonis scored her fifth goal of the season off a pass from
Cambrie Rickard at the 7:02 mark to tie the game at 1-1.
  Lawrence got what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 34:44 mark when
Izzy Robertson took a pass from
Ava Elders and scored for a 2-1 advantage.Â
  The Vikings compiled a 25-12 edge in shots for the match and had a 14-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Ella Lysne made five saves, and Beloit's Maya Betzler stopped 12 shots.Â
  The Vikings return to action on Saturday when Lawrence hosts Lake Forest College in a battle of two teams tied for first place in the Midwest Conference.
