OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team couldn't overcome a hot-shooting Oberlin College squad Friday night in a 78-69 nonconference setback at the Oberlin Tip-Off Tournament.
    Oberlin's top two scorers went a combined 10-for-12 from beyond the arc, and the Yeomen shot 50 percent (13-for-26) from beyond the arc.
    Newcomers led the way for the Vikings as Caleb Nash scored a team-best 17 points. Nathan Valentine added 13 points, and Jasper Padia scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. 
    Zach Smith scored 25 points to lead Oberlin and went 7-for-8 on 3-pointers. Yuuki Okubo added 14 points for the Yeomen and was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
