SAUGET, Ill. -- The Lawrence University baseball team scored seven times in the second inning Saturday and rolled to an 11-4 nonconference victory over Heidelberg University at GCS Ballpark.
  The Vikings tacked on two more runs in the and single runs in the fifth and seventh.
Nick Katz tossed five scoreless innings to pick up the victory, and rookie
Nate Leonard worked the final four innings to pick up his first collegiate save.

William Polanco homered and drove in three runs, and
Parker Knoll and
Quinn Berglin both had two hits for the Vikings (2-0).
  Lawrence's big second inning started when
Jacob Charon reached on an error. Polanco followed with a two-run blast to left-center, and the Vikings led 2-0.Â

Stephaune Haylock walked and later scored in
Nick Heerde's single for a 3-0 edge. After an out on the bases,
Tate Hartlaub walked and
Taylor Freeman reached on an error to score Hartlaub. Another error and a hit batsman kept the inning alive, and Polanco and Haylock both drew bases-loaded walks to force in a pair of runs for a 7-0 Lawrence lead.
  Hartlaub and Freeman got the third going with a single and a walk, and Knoll delivered a two-run single for a 9-0 lead.Â
  Katz was cruising on the mound as he allowed just three hits over the first five innings. He walked one and struck out one.
  Heidelberg helped the Vikings out in the fifth with three errors to load the bases. Haylock was then hit by a pitch to drive in another run, and Lawrence led 10-0.
  Heidelberg got on the board in the sixth, but the Vikings got that run back in the seventh.
Edan Perez walked, and Knoll followed with a single. Perez then scored on a wild pitch to move the lead to 11-1.
  Heidelberg scored three times in the ninth for the final margin.
  Leonard allowed six hits over his four innings on his way to the save. He struck out two and walked one.
