Lawrence men fourth, women fifth at CCFC Championships

    COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Lawrence University men's fencing team finished fourth and the women's team was fifth on Saturday at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships.
    During the team competition portion of the championships at French Field House, the Lawrence men posted a 1-3 record, and the women finished with a 2-4 mark.
    The Lawrence women recorded victories over Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy. The lone victory for the men was over Detroit Mercy. The top squad for the Vikings was men's saber, which finished third.
    Northwestern won the women's team title with a 6-0 record, and Ohio State took the men's crown with a 4-0 mark.
    The individual portion of the championships takes place on Sunday.
