APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team fell behind by double digits late in the first half Saturday and never recovered in a 90-47 Midwest Conference loss to Illinois College at Alexander Gymnasium.
  The Blueboys pulled away over the final six-plus minutes of the first half to build a 15-point halftime advantage. Illinois College maintained that edge and expanded the margin over the final 10 minutes of the game.

Casey Schoenecker had a huge game for Lawrence as he scored a career-high 27 points for the Vikings. Schoenecker, a first-year forward whose previous scoring high was 20 points against Beloit College last month, went 12-for-17 from the floor and added a team-best six rebounds.

Hogan Demovsky picked up seven points for the Vikings (5-17, 3-10 MWC) and
Carson Nichols added five.
  Matt Thompson led Illinois College (19-3, 11-2) with 22 points.Â
  Lawrence returns to action on Tuesday when the Vikings host Lake Forest College.
