CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team fell behind early Friday and dropped a 15-5 nonconference decision to Macalester College in the Vikings' spring break opener.
  Macalester (11-4) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the top of the second inning, but the Vikings battled back. The Scots sealed the win with two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Mattigan Haller led Lawrence (2-5) by going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in.
Khayla Santiago went 2-for-3 with a double, scored two runs and drove in a run for the Vikings.Â
  The Scots were up 6-0 after scoring three times in the first and three more times in the second, but the Vikings countered with two runs in the bottom half of the second.
Gillian Guerriero doubled and came in to score on Santiago's double. Santiago later scored on a wild pitch to trim the margin to 6-2. Lawrence added two more runs in the fourth on
Zoe Doherty's run-scoring single and Haller's run-scoring double to cut the lead to 9-4.

Lizzy Angemi made the start and took the loss after allowing eight hits and three earned runs in three innings. Kara Jensen worked two innings of one-hit relief to pick up the win.
