CLERMONT, Fla.-- The Lawrence University softball team hung with Manchester University on Monday before the Spartans pulled away late for a 6-3 nonconference victory.
  Lawrence had battled back from a 3-0 deficit and trailed 4-3 before Manchester scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to seal the victory.

Zoe Doherty went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a run driven in to pace the Lawrence offense.
Gillian Guerriero picked up a double, and
Mattigan Haller and
Janessa Gonzalez both drove in a run.
  The Vikings (4-8) rallied in the top of the third with a pair of runs.
Adrie Villa walked and Doherty singled to get things started. Haller's sacrifice fly scored Villa to cut the lead to 2-1, and Gonzalez followed with a single to trim the lead to 3-2.
  Manchester (3-2) scored a run in the bottom of the third, but the Vikings countered with a run in the top of the fourth.
Khayla Santiago reached on an error and scored on Doherty's two-out double to trim the margin to 4-3.Â
  The Spartans then tacked on two runs on three hits in the sixth to pull away. Manchester worked around Haller's two-out single in the seventh to close out the game.

Xiomara Rueda-Marshall made the start and allowed four runs on five hits for Lawrence.Â
