EUREKA, Ill. -- The Lawrence University softball team belted six home runs on Sunday en route to sweeping a nonconference doubleheader from Eureka College at Sweitzer Field.
  Lawrence won the opener 14-11 and took the second game 9-5.
  In the first game, the Vikings pounded out 15 hits, including six extra-base hits.Â

Janessa Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, two runs scored and four runs batted in for Lawrence (2-4).
Gillian Guerriero went 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs scored and three RBIs for the Vikings, and
Mattigan Haller was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.Â

Jordan Wallin-Swanson went 3-for-5, and
Kourtney Mercer homered, scored two runs and drove in a pair for the Vikings.

Avery Chilson worked 5.1 innings of relief to pick up her first collegiate victory. She allowed four runs on six hits, struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. Chilson also went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
  Lawrence trailed 7-1 heading to the third when Gonzalez doubled to score Haller. Mercer followed with a two-run homer to trim the deficit to 7-4.
  The Vikings were down 10-4 when they exploded for nine runs in the fifth inning. Gonzalez got things started with a two-run homer, and Guerriero hit a two-run homer two batters later to cut the lead to 10-8.
Mary Boyle had a run-scoring single, and
Zoe Doherty drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 10-10. An error, a bases-loaded walk to Gonzalez and another error allowed three more runs to score, and Lawrence led 13-10.
  The Vikings tacked on another run in the seventh, and Chilson gave up a run in the bottom of the seventh before striking out the final two batters to end the game.
  In the second game, Doherty went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers, five RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Vikings.Â
  Guerriero went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a runs scored, and
Khayla Santiago went 2-for-4. Haller homered and scored a pair of runs.Â

Lizzy Angemi pitched 4.2 innings of relief to pick up her first win of the season. She allowed two runs on seven hits, struck out three and walked one.Â
  Lawrence jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second on a pair of homers. Doherty hit a three-run blast, and Haller followed with a solo shot to put the Vikings ahead.
  Eureka (0-2) came back with four runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning, but the Vikings grabbed the lead back in the fourth. Mercer hit a run-scoring double, and Guerriero followed with a two-run single two batters later to give the Vikings a 7-4 lead.
  Lawrence added to its advantage in the fifth when
Adrie Villa reached on an error and Doherty followed with a two-run homer for a 9-4 edge.
  The Red Devils got a run back in the sixth and were still threatening when Chilson came on in relief. She got the final out of the inning and then worked around a walk in the seventh to close out the victory.
