Editor's Note: The Lawrence sports information office made a change to the official scoring in the second game of the doubleheader to credit a hit to a Maranatha batter. Game two now stands as a one-hit shutout.
  DE PERE, Wis. -- Three Lawrence University softball pitchers combined on a one-hit shutout Wednesday in the Vikings' nonconference doubleheader sweep of Maranatha Baptist University at Miron Construction Field.

Kourtney Mercer,
Lizzy Angemi and
Xiomara Rueda-Marshall allowed only a fourth-inning double in Lawrence's 11-0 victory in the nightcap. The Vikings pounded out 26 hits in a 24-1 win in the opener.
  Mercer tossed the opening two innings, striking out five and walking three. Angemi pitched the next two innings and struck out five while walking one. Rueda-Marshall pitched the final inning with a pair of strikeouts to finish the contest.Â
  Lawrence (8-12) scored three times in the first, added two more in the third and put the game away with six runs in the fourth.Â

Gillian Guerriero went 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored a run for the Vikings.
Mattigan Haller went 2-for-3, and Rueda-Marshall drove in two runs.

Zoe Doherty picked up a run-scoring single in the first, and
Adrie Villa had an RBI single in the third to help build a 5-0 lead. Rueda-Marshall had a two-run double in the fourth, and Guerriero added a two-run single to highlight the six-run fourth inning.
  In the first game, the Vikings scored in every inning, and that included a 10-run fourth inning.
  Haller went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs batted in and three runs scored.
Janessa Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, and Guerriero went 3-for-5 with one RBI and three runs scored.Â
  Pitcher
Avery Chilson went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and one batted in. Villa,
Laney Martens and Mercer had two hits apiece, and Villa, Martens,
Taylor Hughes and
Alexis Norwood all drove in a pair of runs.
  Chilson picked up the win as she allowed one run on two hits over four innings. She struck out seven and walked one. Â
  Lawrence hits the road this weekend for a pair of Midwest Conference doubleheaders at Cornell College and Monmouth College.
