APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University baseball star Parker Knoll has been chosen as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators.
    Knoll (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), a junior outfielder, was a second-team selection and the only player from the Midwest Conference to be chosen. Knoll is a biochemistry major with a 3.86 grade point average.
    Knoll put together a spectacular 2024 season at the plate while earning a reputation as one of the top defensive center fielders in the region. Knoll picked up first-team American Baseball Coaches Association All-America honors and was chosen as a fourth-team All-American by D3baseball.com. 
    A first-team All-Region 9 selection, Knoll hit .393 on the season with 12 doubles, one triple and a team-best 16 home runs. He drove in 54 runs while scoring a team-best 68 runs.
    Knoll led all of NCAA Division III at 1.62 runs scored per game and finished seventh with 68 runs scored. He finished 12th in Division III at 0.38 home runs per game and 15th with 16 home runs. 
    Knoll also proved to be a major threat on the bases with 21 steals during the campaign. A three-time all-region selection, he put together a .488 on-base percentage to go with a .762 slugging percentage for a 1.250 OPS. A three-time All-Midwest Conference selection, Knoll is already Lawrence's career leader with 170 runs scored and 77 stolen bases and ranks in the top five in numerous other categories.
    Knoll is the first Lawrence athlete to be chosen as a CSC Academic All-American since cross country and track star Josh Janusiak was a first-team pick in 2019.
    Knoll is playing for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in the Northwoods League for the second consecutive summer. He is hitting .362 with five doubles, one triple, four homers, 25 runs scored and 26 runs batted in over 26 games.
