APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University baseball team has won the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award.
  The award goes to teams which post a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the 2023-24 academic year. Lawrence posted a 3.32 grade point average for the 2023-24 academic year.
  The 2024 Midwest Conference champions have received multiple academic awards in the wake of the season. Outfielder
Parker Knoll was chosen as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American, and both Knoll and first baseman
Zach Leslie received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. Lawrence had 19 student-athletes received Academic All-Midwest Conference accolades as well.Â
  Lawrence won its second Midwest Conference championship in three seasons by posting a 20-3 league record. The Vikings won a school-record 31 games and posted a 31-11 mark for the season.Â
  The Vikings had four players earn All-America honors with
Jacob Charon and Knoll chosen for the first team by the American Baseball Coaches Association, and pitcher
Quinn Berglin earning fourth-team honors. Charon was a first-team pick by D3baseball.com, with Knoll earning fourth-team honors and Berglin and outfielder
Edan Perez picking up fifth-team awards.
  Charon also was chosen as Region 9 Player of the Year and Midwest Conference Player of the Year, and Berglin was chosen as Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Year.Â
