FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team scored once in each half Wednesday to carve out a 2-0 nonconference win against Marian University at Smith Field.

Maya Alberts scored in the first half for Lawrence (3-2-0), and
Kylie Melonis padded the advantage with a second-half goal for the Vikings.
  Lawrence put together a 16-5 edge in shots, and
Ella Lysne made two saves to earn the shutout for the Vikings. Chelsea King stopped seven shots for the Sabres (2-3-0).
  Alberts got the Vikings on the board in the 26th minute. After a corner kick, Alberts won the ball during a scramble in front of the net and fired the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead at 25:31.
  The score stayed that way until Melonis scored at the 60:54 mark.
Kate Noonan sent a through ball to Melonis, who scored on the breakaway for a 2-0 edge.
   Lawrence is now 3-0-1 in its last four matches against Marian.
