APPLETON, Wis. -- After a tight opening half Wednesday night on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl, the Lawrence University men's soccer team saw UW-Stevens Point pull away for a 5-0 nonconference win.
  The game was scoreless through the first 55 minutes before Jack Hudson scored for the Pointers. Stevens Point then hit another gear and played very well over the final 30-plus minutes. Stevens Point tacked on four goals in the final 17 minutes to pull away.
  Lawrence held a 5-2 edge in shots in the opening half, but Stevens Point had a 12-9 edge in shots for the match.

Nason Lancina made five saves in net for the Vikings (1-4-2), and Jacob Havlik made two saves for the Pointers (4-1-3).
  Lawrence returns to action on Sunday when the Vikings travel to Hamline University for a nonconference game.
