BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- There was no Hoosiers-like ending for the Lawrence University women's soccer team on Sunday.Â
The Vikings dropped a 9-0 nonconference decision to Indiana University at Bill Armstrong Stadium. It was Lawrence's first meeting with a Big Ten opponent.
Indiana (5-0-1) led 3-0 at the half, and the Hoosiers poured it on in the second half. Indiana led 5-0 and then scored four times in an eight-minute span late in the contest to pull away.
Layla Sirdah scored four times to lead Indiana, which fired 43 shots. Lawrence (2-2-0) was limited to two shots for the contest.
 Â
Ella Lysne made eight saves for the Vikings, and Jamie Gerstenberg picked up the shutout for Indiana.
Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when the Vikings travel to Marian University.
