MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team shot the ball well from long-range Saturday and used that to roll to a 71-57 Midwest Conference win over Monmouth College at Glennie Gymnasium.
  Lawrence hit seven of its first 13 3-point attempts and also went 10-for-10 from the foul line on the afternoon.

Kate Adams led the Vikings with 16 points as she went 5-for-7 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Adams added three rebounds, two blocks and two steals.Â
Olivia Kesti also came off the bench for the Vikings to score in double figures. Kesti had 12 points as she went 5-for-8 from the floor and added three rebounds and a pair of assists.Â
  It was a balanced attack for Lawrence (13-5, 7-2 MWC) as seven players scored at least five points.
Charlotte Brennan had nine points, four assists and three rebounds, and
Mallory Meyer had eight points for the Vikings.
Sophie Morey pulled down a game-high six rebounds to go with seven points.
Josie Chose chipped in six points, and
Maggie Culver added five for the Vikings.
  Ella Goodrich led Monmouth (4-14, 1-8) with 16 points.
  The game was tied at 14-14 heading to the second quarter, but Meyer gave Lawrence the lead for good with her jumper just eight seconds into the second. The Vikings were up 20-19 when Lawrence went on a 17-2 run to finish the first half. Kesti scored six points in that stretch, Brennan added four and Adams drained a 3-pointer as Lawrence took a 37-21 lead at the half.
  Monmouth got as close as 11 points at 43-32 in the third quarter, but the Vikings took over from there. Lawrence put together a 17-4 run to finish the third quarter. Adams scored seven points during that burst, and Brennan and
Lydia Lueck both made 3-pointers as Lawrence led 60-36 heading to the fourth.
  Playing mostly against Lawrence's reserves in the fourth quarter, Monmouth never got closer than the final margin of 14 points.Â
  Lawrence won its fourth consecutive game in the series with Monmouth and has swept the season series for the second straight season.
