APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 5-2 Midwest Conference match to Illinois College on Saturday morning at the Lawrence Courts.
  Lawrence (4-7, 1-4 MWC) won the doubles point, but Illinois College (10-7, 2-3) won a pair of three-set matches to pull out the victory.
  The Vikings won the doubles point by taking victories at Nos. 1 and 2.
Anna Vanden Acker and
Logan Kane were 6-3 winners at No. 1, and
Clara Hills and
Tess McGlenn won 6-4 at No. 2.
  Hills followed that with a resounding 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alyssa Wise at No. 1 singles.Â
  Illinois College won in straight sets at Nos. 2, 4 and 6, but the No. 3 and No. 5 matches both went to a decisive third set. The Lady Blues won both of those matches to claim the victory.
