Vikings pull away early, shut out St. Norbert

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team scored twice in the opening six minutes Tuesday and rode that to a 2-0 nonconference win over St. Norbert College on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Maddie Schellinger got the Vikings on the board just 4:51 into the match with her second goal of the season.
Lawrence quickly made it 2-0 on Ava Elders' goal at the 6:02 mark. It was the team-leading eighth goal of the season for Elders.
That was more offense than was needed for the Lawrence defensive corps, which limited St. Norbert (3-11-1) to just three shots on goal. Lawrence had a 15-6 edge in shots for the match.
Ally Littau made three saves to record the shutout for Lawrence (6-4-5). Leah Hess made seven saves for St. Norbert.
