Lawrence keeps pace with regions best at Augustana Invitational

Lillian Courtnage-Dyke (2440) finishes 70th overall at Augustana Invitational
Rock Island, IL – The Lawrence University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Rock Island, Illinois, on Saturday to compete in the highly competitive Augustana Interregional Invitational, hosted at the Saukie Golf Course.

The Lawrence men's team placed 21st overall with a team score of 655 points in the Blue 8K race. Facing off against some of the top programs in the region and country, the Vikings held their own and finished better than 8 other regionally ranked teams and one national ranked team.

Leading the way for Lawrence was Nick Hansen who crossed the line in 74th place overall with a strong performance against an elite field. He was closely followed by Ryan Cassidy, who took 86th place and continued his consistent season.

On the women's side, Lawrence finished 35th overall as a team with a score of 928 points in the women's 6K Blue race.

The top performer for the Vikings was Lillian Courtnage-Dyke, who placed 70th overall, standing out in a race that featured a stacked field of nearly 400 runners. Her performance marked another strong race for the sophomore.

With the Augustana Invitational in the books, the Vikings now shift their focus to the Midwest Conference Championships in two weeks — a meet that promises great competition and a chance to bring home hardware.
