APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence (3-0, 0-0 Midwest Conference) defeated North Central (IL) (2-1, 0-0 CCIW) on Friday, 75-65, overcoming a fourth-quarter surge with a 39-26 rebounding advantage.   

Lawrence took control early in the first quarter, with Kate Adams leading the charge by scoring three consecutive 3-pointers. By the 7:58 mark, the Vikings established a 9-4 lead. Adams contributed significantly with a steal and a jumper, extending the advantage to 11-4. North Central responded with a 3-pointer from Jocelyn Trotter at 2:50, narrowing the gap to 15-8. Despite a late push from North Central, including two 3-pointers by Natalie Doyle, the Vikings maintained a lead, ending the quarter ahead 22-16.   

In the second quarter, Dolly Smith scored a 3-pointer at 9:17 to narrow the gap for North Central, but the Vikings held tight with a 3-pointer from Josie Eager at 8:37. Charlotte Brennan contributed significantly for Lawrence, scoring a layup at 8:07 and later hitting a 3-pointer at 6:29, assisted by Sophie Morey. The period saw the Vikings maintaining a slight lead despite North Central's efforts, including a late 3-pointer by Cate Uhren at 0:22. Lawrence concluded the quarter leading 38-33 after Brennan added another 3-pointer in the final seconds.   

Lawrence took command in the third quarter, outscoring North Central 21-8. Morey and Brennan each made impactful contributions with layups early in the period, with Brennan assisting on multiple occasions. Adams also added to the scoring with a 3-pointer at the 4:57 mark, followed by a layup shortly after, pushing the lead further. Lawrence's defense was strong, recording three blocks and limiting North Central to just three baskets in the quarter.   

In the final quarter, the Vikings maintained their lead despite a strong push from North Central. Grace Kieffer of North Central opened the scoring with a 3-pointer at 8:51, narrowing the gap, but Adams responded with consecutive free throws to extend the advantage. North Central's Kennedy Hartwig connected on multiple shots, including a 3-pointer, but Lawrence's consistent free-throw shooting kept them ahead. With 30 seconds remaining, Adams hit two more free throws, sealing a 75–65 victory for the Vikings.
