The first half opened with Wisconsin Lutheran taking an early lead, highlighted by Ja'Quell Chisom's layup at 18:44 and a 3-pointer from Sam Hans at 17:59, assisted by Lucas Anamndu. Lawrence responded with Casey Schoenecker's layup at 17:13, assisted by Hogan Demovsky, to narrow the gap.
