APPLETON, Wis. ā MSOE (3-1-0, 2-0-0) defeated Lawrence University (1-3-0, 0-2-0), 6-0, at the Appleton Arena. The Raiders' power play was effective, netting two goals in the decisive win.
The first period opened with a faceoff win for the Vikings by
Ethan Look, but MSOE quickly took control. Brennan Dickey scored just 43 seconds in to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead, with an assist from Jackson Hughes. Shortly after, Ethan Mann extended the lead to 2-0 at 4:54 with an assist from Cole Beilke. MSOE capitalized on a power play opportunity later in the period, as Seth Bernard netted a goal at 9:09, assisted by Beilke and Rylan Jockims, increasing the advantage to 3-0. Lawrence struggled to convert several chances, including a power play opportunity, as the period concluded with the Raiders leading comfortably.
In the second period, MSOE extended their lead to 4ā0 with a power-play goal from Jockims at 8:43, assisted by Bernard and Carson Jones. The Vikings had multiple scoring opportunities, including shots by
Jeb Dee and
Jacob Jakusz, but MSOE's goaltender, Austin Schwab, made several key saves. Despite earning two power plays in the period, Lawrence was unable to capitalize. The period concluded with penalties on both teams, but no further scoring occurred.
In the third period, Lawrence faced an uphill battle against the Raiders, who maintained their lead. At 12:07, Jacob Bosse extended the visitors' advantage with an unassisted goal, bringing the score to 5-0. Despite the Vikings' efforts, including multiple shots saved by Schwab, they were unable to break through. MSOE's Beilke scored a short-handed goal at 3:28, assisted by Mann and Bosse, to seal a 6-0 victory.
