Lawrence opened the first quarter with a strong defensive effort, forcing eight turnovers while allowing only one basket. Charlotte Brennan initiated the scoring with a layup, and Sophie Morey added to the lead with two successful free throws early in the quarter. Lawrence maintained pressure, with Josie Eager and Olivia Kesti contributing key steals.

The visiting team continued to control the paint, scoring 12 points inside, highlighted by layups from Kate Adams and Morey, extending their advantage. Lawrence concluded the quarter with a tip-in by Brennan, extending their lead to 14–2.
