MONMOUTH, Ill. — Lawrence University (8-1, 3-0 Midwest Conference) defeated Monmouth College (2-6, 0-3 Midwest Conference), 67-35, at Glennie Gymnasium, dominating the boards with a 52-36 rebounding advantage. The Vikings also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 23 points off the Scots' miscues.
Lawrence opened the first quarter with a strong defensive effort, forcing eight turnovers while allowing only one basket.
Charlotte Brennan initiated the scoring with a layup, and
Sophie Morey added to the lead with two successful free throws early in the quarter. Lawrence maintained pressure, with
Josie Eager and
Olivia Kesti contributing key steals.
