Vikings drop first conference game on the road

APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence fell to Knox 77-65 on Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The game was tied at halftime, but Knox pulled away in the second half to secure the Midwest Conference win.

The first half commenced with both teams trading baskets, leading to a closely contested start. Lawrence matched Knox shot for shot, highlighted by Nicholas Gouriotis's three-pointer at 13:50, which tied the game at 17–17. Despite several lead changes and both teams demonstrating strong play in the paint, the half concluded in a 43–43 tie, with Casey Schoenecker scoring a layup with 20 seconds remaining to level the score.

Lawrence struggled to maintain momentum in the second half, despite Nathan Valentine hitting an early 3-pointer at 18:09 to briefly extend their lead. CJ Campbell's dunk at 9:06 provided a spark, but a series of turnovers and missed opportunities allowed Knox to capitalize with a strong finish. Knox outscored Lawrence 34–22 in the half, resulting in a final score of 77–65 in favor of Knox.
