RIVER FOREST, Ill. — Lawrence University (7-3, 1-2 Midwest Conference) secured a decisive 75-61 victory over Dominican University (IL) (1-10, 1-3 NACC) at the Igini Sports Forum on Saturday night. The Vikings' defense was highlighted by five blocks, contributing to their commanding win.
Lawrence opened the first half with a strong scoring run, highlighted by
Nathan Valentine's back-to-back 3-pointers. The Vikings' effective shooting maintained their momentum, as they capitalized on points in the paint and fast breaks, outscoring the Stars with a total of 18 points in the paint. Their offensive efforts were supported by defensive rebounds, with the team collecting 17 defensive boards, limiting the Stars' second-chance opportunities.
