MEQUON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's hockey team scored a pair of second-period goals Saturday and went on to a 2-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over Concordia University Wisconsin at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
Alex Hollands and PJ Noonan scored for the Vikings, who split the weekend series with Concordia.
The Falcons took a 1-0 lead on Derek Humphreys' power-play goal at the 9:36 mark of the second. Concordia went 1-for-3 on the power play and Lawrence was 0-for-2.
Lawrence (5-13-2, 4-9-1 NCHA) needed less than four minutes to tie the game. Hollands scored off assists from Akhmed Malsagov and Hayden Johnson at the 13:21 mark to tie the score at 1-1.
The Vikings grabbed the lead less than three minutes later when Noonan scored off assists from Robby Pustulka and Miles McCue at the 16:27 mark for a 2-1 advantage.
Lawrence hung onto the lead into the third period and had to kill off a penalty after getting whistled for hooking at the 13:03 mark. The Falcons (11-10-0, 6-8-0) then pulled goaltender Gabe Rosek for the final 2:20 but couldn't get the equalizer.
