ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Lawrence University men's lacrosse team took a loss Sunday in the program's first game with a 17-2 nonconference setback to Trine University at Shive Field.
  Trine (2-0) scored the game's first six goals and broke the game open with seven goals in the third quarter.Â
  Lawrence (0-1) scored its first goal on an extra man opportunity with 4:47 left in the second quarter.
Robbie Spielmann's goal cut Trine's lead to 6-1. The Vikings added a second goal from
Iori Yamada with 4:17 left in the third quarter.
  In addition to the goal, Spielmann added five ground balls, and
Henry Hayes had a team-best six ground balls for the Vikings.

Gavin Reiter played the first 49:43 in goal for the Vikings and recorded 21 saves.
Tyler Graham played the final 10:17 and didn't record a save. Zade Gawrys played the opening 30 minutes for the Thunder, recorded two saves and picked up the victory.
  Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Carroll University.
