ASHLAND, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's lacrosse team earned the first victory in program history on Sunday with a 24-8 nonconference win over Northland College at Ponzio Stadium.

Judah Goehring scored nine goals for the Vikings, and
Iori Yamada,
Eamon Tegenfeldt-Pfohman and
Emmett Eischens had three goals apiece.
  Playing in just the fourth game in program history, Lawrence went 3-for-10 on its extra-man opportunities while holding Northland to 0-for-3. The Vikings collected 38 grounds balls, compared to 15 for the Lumberjacks.Â
  Lawrence jumped on the Lumberjacks early as Eischens, Tegenfeldt-Pfohman and Yamada all scored in the opening five minutes for a 3-0 lead. After a Northland tally, Goehring scored four of Lawrence's next five goals as the Vikings jumped out to an 8-1 edge.
  Goehring added three more goals in the second quarter, and the Vikings held a 14-5 lead at the half.

Robbie Spielmann scored just 10 seconds in the third quarter to get the ball rolling, and Lawrence rattled off six more goals to pull away to a 21-5 advantage.
  Goehring picked up his ninth goal late in the third quarter, and the Vikings tacked on goals from
Zachary Breaux and
Connor Badger to complete the scoring.

Gavin Reiter played the opening 45 minutes in goal and made one save to get the win for Lawrence (1-3).
Tyler Graham picked up four saves over the final 15 minutes.
