APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's lacrosse team put the clamps on Illinois Benedictine over the final three quarters Saturday, and the Vikings posted an 8-4 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Eamon Tegenfeldt-Pfohman and
Brody Herr scored two goals apiece to pace Lawrence (4-11, 2-8 NACC).
Gavin Reiter made seven saves for the Vikings, including six over the final three quarters.
  Lawrence trailed 2-0 early, but
Judah Goehring scored late in the first quarter to get the Vikings on the board. Yamada then picked up his first goal with just 14 seconds left in the first but cut Benedictine's lead to 3-2 after the opening quarter.
  Herr and
Finn Anderson scored the only two goals of the second quarter as Lawrence held Benedictine scoreless in the quarter on nine shots. The Vikings led 4-3 at the half, and Herr and Tegenfeldt-Pfohman scored in a span of 21 seconds in the third quarter to push the lead to 6-3.
  Luke Grant scored for the Eagles (6-10, 4-6), but Tegenfeldt-Pfohman scored off an assist from Yamada for a 7-4 lead with 7:26 left. Yamada then added a goal in the final two minutes to put the finishing touch on the victory.
  Lawrence had a 32-29 edge in shots, and Benedictine had a 28-24 advantage in ground balls.Â
