DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University volleyball team won three close sets Saturday to post a 3-0 nonconference win over the College of St. Scholastica at the Chick-fil-A Invitational at St. Norbert College.
  Lawrence defeated the Saints 26-24, 25-21, 26-24.
  In the opening set, St. Scholastica scored four consecutive points to rally and tie the score at 24-24. Lawrence then got kills from
Chania Tinch and
Margaret Hahnke to take the first set. Lawrence built a 23-19 in the second set and then traded points the rest of the way to grab a 2-0 lead. Hahnke picked up the kill to close out the set.
    In the third set, Lawrence pushed out to a 19-11 lead. St. Scholastica rallied and scored six consecutive points to trim the lead to 22-20. Lawrence then scored the next two points on consecutive kills from
Alayna Geiser for a 24-20 advantage. It wasn't over as the Saints scored the next four points to tie the set at 24-24. Geiser then picked up a kill and
Britta Josephson's service ace delivered the set and the match for the Vikings. Josephson tied for match-high honors with four aces.
  Hahnke led Lawrence with a match-high 14 kills, and she added a match-high 21 digs to go with four aces. Geiser added nine kills and nine digs for the Vikings, and
Hazel Cook picked up eight kills.Â
Ally Corrente piled up 37 assists for Lawrence, and she added six digs and an ace.
