PELLA, Iowa -- The Lawrence University volleyball team downed Central College 3-1 on Wednesday in a nonconference match at Kuyper Gymnasium.
  Lawrence defeated the Dutch 25-19, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22 as part of the Central Triangular. Lawrence also defeated Westminster (Mo.) College 3-0 earlier in the day. This marked Lawrence's first win over Central in six matches with the Dutch dating back to the 2009 season.

Hazel Cook led a balanced Lawrence attack with 10 kills as five Vikings had at least five kills.
Margaret Hahnke added nine kills and tied for match-high honors with 20 digs.Â

Alayna Geiser and
Audrey Weier added seven kills apiece for the Vikings, who have won nine of their last 10 matches. Geiser picked up seven digs, and Weiser had a match-high five blocks.
Chania Tinch picked up five kills for the Vikings.

Ally Corrente handed out 37 assists, and libero
Aria Wessel also had 20 digs.
  The Vikings return to action this weekend when Lawrence travels to Wheaton College Invitational for four matches.
