APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team scored on a late penalty kick Friday to grab a 1-1 nonconference tie with Elmhurst University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
    Lawrence (2-2-2) trailed 1-0 after Elmhurst (4-1-1) scored on a penalty kick in the 75th minute.
    Lawrence's Kylie Melonis was then taken down in the penalty box at the 79:04 mark to give the Vikings a crack at a penalty kick. Kate Noonan buried the penalty kick in the back of the net, and Lawrence had tied the score at 1-1.
    Lawrence goalkeeper Ally Littau made six saves for the Vikings, and Erin Fitzharris made one save for Elmhurst. The Bluejays had a 16-5 edge in shots.
