MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Cornell College in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday.
  Lawrence is now 1-4 and 0-2 in Midwest Conference play. Cornell is now 5-0 and 2-0 in the league.
  In matches played in oppressive heat, the Vikings played a pair of tight matches with the Rams.
Clara Hills battled in two tight sets before falling at No. 1 singles, and
Logan Kane lost a tough three-set match at No. 3 singles.
  Lawrence returns to action next weekend when the Vikings play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional in Minnesota.
